International creative arts company Nose 2 Nose returned to Qatar Academy this week to work with grade 9 – 12 students enrolled in Drama and Music classes. The theater company is based out of United Kingdom and Japan but has done extensive training and workshops in international schools across Asia.

Peter Dalglish Country Representative for UN-Habitat in Afghanistan, founder of the Street Kids International charity and the Trails Youth Initiative program spoke to faculty and staff at QA about his humanitarian work and his career in Afghanistan, Ethiopia and Sudan with refugees and street children.

Qatar Academy Primary’s Arabic and Islamic Studies departments collaborated anew for the Arabic Open Week, a hands-on lesson sharing project for the parents. Aimed at providing parents with the opportunity to attend an Arabic/Islamic Studies lesson and see their children in action

This school year marks the tenth year that Qatar Academy’s Eid Al Adha Suitcase project successfully distributed boxes of basic necessities to some of the less fortunate families in Doha. The project’s name and the students involved may have changed through the years but Rola Abu Ramadan, Arabic teacher and the project’s founder maintains that the QA community’s generosity and commitment to the cause continue to grow each year.

Following the successful opening of a new school year, Qatar Academy Doha continues to forge new partnerships and strengthen established ties within the community through the Back to School Night. This meeting, held each year after the opening of classes, provides the parents with the opportunity to learn more about their children’s studies.
